Here’s how I made my custom GPT to help give me amazing AI article ideas.
Since I write about AI (but it could have been any topic) - I put news feeds about AI into my GPT to show the latest articles from a custom list of news sources.
In case you don’t know — A news feed is a list of articles in order from the most recent.
You can get these directly from news websites related to your topic — or just ask ChatGPT.

Get News Feeds from ChatGPT
ChatGPT Prompt: Can you give me 5 popular news feeds about AI? Please include the exact links. I want to use this in a GPT I’m making.

How to Build Your Custom GPT
First, you need to know what you want the GPT to do.
Here is what my GPT does.
- Displays the latest 3 article titles and links from each of the 5 news feeds I gave it.
- Lets you choose which article you want to write about.
- Gives you 5 article title suggestions based on your choice.

Now that I have my 5 news feeds - I just need to give my GPT some instructions.
GPT Instructions: Here are 5 news feeds from popular AI publications.
Paste the above news feeds here.
Please show me the latest 3 articles and titles with urls and display them from these news feeds
Then ask me to choose which article I want to write about based on these.
Once I choose the article, please give me 5 article titles for articles based on this that are catchy and that someone might want to click on and read if they are interested in AI.
Here is the screenshot of the working GPT — It is a long list since it is from 15 articles. So I just showed you the first four.
If you liked any of the articles — tell the GPT which one you like and it will give you 5 article ideas to write about based on this.

News feeds are the main engine for creating content ideas in my GPT. But you really could use anything.
